Project Renaissance is a U Albany course that follows several majors for students. But the course track I’ve chosen was the general track. The class is better then I expected, because its not one of those crowded lecture classes. The class mostly consists of about twenty people. As a plus all the students are from the same floor so you don’t have to worry about finding out what the homework is. But the down side is that its way harder to skip classes because the professors also have offices in the same building as your dorm is.
Though the class is practically 3hrs long the books they chosen aren’t that bad either. So far we’ve read Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim by David Sedaris, and are about to start the graphic novel Maus. So far the books seem to be good choices and holds your attention fairly well. What I like the most of all is the trips we have outside of class and the interesting games that the professors make, other then the ridiculous name games. Of course they could extend the time for reading as well, 2 days to read 40 to 60 some pages is not a lot of time. But I’m not speaking just for myself, there are others that probably feel the same, especially if the book doesn’t catch your attention in the first half.
